So its been a while since I posted and I apologize for that. I went on summer vacation for two weeks back in August and it was AMAZING to say the least. Flew out to Kuala Lampur, Malaysia then to Singapore then to Indonesia, where we went from Bali to Java, to the Gili Islands and Lombok. I have never seen more beautiful beaches than in Bali. Snorkeling and swimming with sea turtles, renting scooters and getting pissed on by a baby monkey are only a few of the highlights. Unfortunately though I left me camera at dinner one night and the next day I went and it was not turned it so someone took it. I am more disappointed in losing the pictures than the camera itself, but everyone on the trip was safe and returned in one piece which is the bigger picture (no pun intended haha).

So I have some pictures and they are in a random order because they are taken off my Facebook page. I will describe but the pictures should speak for themselves.
Limestone beaches of Uluwatu in Bali. Siting and thinking
Going to take a picture of Stephen stumbling in the water, but I just noticed he may be drowning..........Mitch Bucanon to the rescue.....Cue Baywatch theme music and slow motion running
Rylan and I in Chinatown in Kulala Lampur, they sell "real" watches and Gucci hand bags for a fraction of the price...............
Steve and I at the Botonical Gardens in Singapore, we already left the hostel so we  had to have our bags
Two friends I made on the island of Gili, Jocka and Adie, they work as house keepers at a homes stay. I took them out for dinner as a gesture of good faith and they later told me that in the three years they have been working on the island that is the first time they have eaten at a restaurant. It gave me a whole new meaning of the VALUE of a dollar.
My buds again showing me a local spot for seething the sunset, there were so thankful for being so generous to them. Truly great guys. They asked when I will be coming again....who is coming this time???
The staff at the Ubud Hideaway in Java. They were so kind and grateful for us helping them with any English questions they had. We gave our driver, the guy, a drink (after he was done driving of course) and the told us all about his family and Muslim lifestyle, it was very interesting to hear a different side of the story.
There wasnt much to do in Java after we went to the largest acidic lake in the world. So we wrestled in the pool for hours, shoulder chicken fighting at its finest.
The Batu Caves with our friend from Indonesia that we met that morning. 272 stairs to the top and you go into a HUGE cave with pigeon and monkeys everywhere.
Steve, Rylan, Jeremy and I monkeying around in Bali
Sorry Mama, I know you would skin me alive but I survived, we rented scooters for the day and toured Ubud in true fashion. Only a couple of close calls. It takes some time adjusting to the driving on the left side of the road.
75 Kilos of sulfur that these gentlemen take down the 3 kilometer mountain everyday to sculpt smelly Donald Ducks and Hello Kitties. A lot heavier than I imagined.
Busting out my Korean style while at Ijen Mountain at the peak where the larges acidic lake is. My clothes still smell like egg farts.
 A section of Tanah Lot.
Taking in the views at Uluwatu.

Waiting for Rylan to hurry up so we can see the beach at Padang Padang in Bali. More pics to come when I get them from my friends. I hope everyone is doing well

So the past two weekends have been what I have been looking forward to since before I moved to Korea. That is the BORYEONG MUD FESTIVAL, a full 16 days of pure muddy fun. I went both weekends and the picture below are my proof.

Mike the one in the glasses looking for is dirty Puerto Rican friend, that is right in front of him.
Lost in the sea of people
But before we got all muddy on friday night we decided to go see a Korean theatrical production

Mike, Beeh, and myself at the theater
With the crew after the show
This is what happens when Koreans yell out FREESTYLE, you act crazy and make funny faces for the camera. As if always doing the V or peace sign in every picture isnt crazy enough. They also love to put their hands up next to their face, they say it makes their heads look smaller, I think they look like they are just smiling at not being high-fived.

On the start of our Saturday morning we got to Boreyeong and MR Lee picked us up, he is the owner of a truck, car, motorcycle driving school, and is opening up a horse riding school on the same lot. This is his little cabin on that property.

Mike and Cy not happy that Mr Lee bought 3 more horses

Mike riding one of the new horses......
Doing reallly well until...........
The horse decides it doesnt want to come from underneath the shelter, Mike almost lost his head during this

Mike and Mr Lee
Me and Mr Lee, as a side note, my name, FERNANDO, is fairly difficult to pronounce in Korean, one becuase they dont have an F sound, as well as the R/L sound is rolled into one. So many Koreans struggle with it, and MR Lee is no exception, they way around it you may ask???? Pronouncing my name like Banana.

Before we hit the mud fest we went to a Boxing match near the mud plaza, it was Japan vs Korea. And for any of you know or heard of the Korean war, Korea isnt too fond of Japan for about 50 years of crap they put them trough.

So needless to say after the first fight when Japan clearly won, the judges called it a draw. This is because the Japanese for one dont want a riot, but a Korea friend explained that it was just showing respect for inviting Japan over and hosting the fight.

Put em up
Mike and our Korean friend Song Taek.

This time the Korean won fair and square.

Finally we made it to the festival, and you know what take the muddy grit out of your mouth?  A nice tasty beer. Even though this is an oxymoron in Korea (Tasty Korean Beer)! Have you ever heard of a Korean beer in the US? umm no that is because they would be no reason to import it.
The liquid courage got us busting a move
with a busted face

Mike cutting a rug........and the girl in the black bikini is pretending to be a chicken

HUGS FOR ALL CLEAN PEOPLE!!!!!

What we looked like before

The largest, dirtiest, sandiest, dance party I have ever been a part of.
So this is the next weekend this past weekend. The weather was amazing and a little less crowded. The true breakfast of champions, Soju(green bottle) and Mekju (Beer) with some orangey soda
 Just a tad muddy
With Jeremy, my sophomore year College roommate, his girlfriend Malia, and Rj shunning us.
With Steve, my freshman, junior and senior year college roommate and Rj once again.
My Canadian friends, Rylan, Me, Will and Ara

Umm I dont know how to flip photos, so turn your head. You can thank me for the neck stretch later.
 In another dance party

About to rinse off in the ocean
And that pretty much sums up the mud fest, tons of mud, boose and people. All in all a great weekend
